Hotels and meeting venues have always been the go-to spaces for corporate training and events, however in more recent years there has been an increase in demand for more unconventional venues, which can often boost attendee engagement and offer an unusual inspiring environment.
Here at Sundial SOS, we’re all about unique venues - check out the top five that we can’t stop talking about…
Kew Gardens – Richmond upon Thames
Located within easy reach of London, Kew Gardens is not only a global resource for plant and fungal knowledge, but also offer several impressive venues set within the beautiful gardens that are perfect for large events with a difference. The Orangery and the Princess of Wales Conservatory are two of our favourite spaces, both are flooded with natural light and are positioned within 330 acres of landscaped gardens which can be used for outside learning experiences and team building activities.
Urban Golf - Smithfields & Soho, London
Looking to combine a day’s training with an evening of leisure for your attendees? We love Urban Golf’s innovative ‘club house’ venues; Royal Smithfield which is located within the famous Smithfield Meat Market and Soho Golf & Country Club which sits in the heart of Soho, a short walk from Piccadilly Circus. Both offer conference and training facilities with a cool twist. Spend the day taking your delegates through your training programme and let them practice their putting in the evening.
The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall – Market Harborough
Nestled within a woodland surrounding, Hothorpe Hall’s manor house, The Woodlands, offers a modern, quirky venue that your attendees will be sure to remember. The venue itself can only be hired exclusively so you are guaranteed to have your own secluded training space within nature. You will have use of three very difference spaces including the main meeting area, an outside training space and a breakout room elevated within the trees!
The Royal Armouries Museum - Leeds
Set in an impressive £350 million development, right on the waterfront and a short walk from Leeds Dock, the Royal Armouries Museum is the epitome of an unusual venue. The space can accommodate up to 1,500 delegates and has one of the UK’s leading conference and events teams. If you’re interested in an ice-breaker to kick off your event, then a live re-enactment set within the Tournament Gallery could be just the thing to get your attendees talking!
Twycross Zoo – Warwickshire
How about the zoo? There are multiple function areas within Twycross Zoo that can cater to any type of event, all with plenty of natural light overlooking the zoo grounds. If you’d like to add in some extra experiences to make your day memorable, you can book your attendees in for an enclosure design and building experience or send them out for an exotic animal encounter!
